A favorite of string orchestra musicians, now accessible for solo playing! This catchy and engaging suite of six Renaissance dance tunes, reimagined by Peter Warlock (pseudonym of Philip Heseltine) for string orchestra in the 1920’s, has been reduced to a solo violin piece with piano accompaniment. Suitable for intermediate to advanced violin players, required techniques involve rapid tempos, spiccato bowing, some double stops, and expressive vibrato, with minimal shifting higher than 3rd position. The piano part is advanced.
Study edition of this popular intermediate-level violin piece adds more fingerings and clearer shifting directions. Re-engraved for better overall readability. Originally published 1899 (Public Domain). Solo violin with piano accompaniment.
Neglected student repertoire piece that deserves more attention! Goby Eberhardt, Op. 82 No. 1, published 1909 (Public Domain). Solo violin with piano accompaniment.
Max Seiffert’s popular edition of the Pachelbel Canon – First Violin part only, with study notes for teaching.
